Journalists working on the Rajshahi University (RU) campus and Rajshahi district on Tuesday demanded speedy justice of the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) men involved in the attack on their fellow journalist.
They raise their voice from a human chain program formed in front of the university central library at 12:00 am.
Later, they submitted a memorandum to the university proctor office.
Besides, a case was filled with Motihar Police Station on Tuesday morning accusing four university unit BCL men along with 10 anonymities.
RU Reporters Unity President Kaikobad Al Mamun presided over the human chain programme while Journalist Association general secretary Mostafiz Ront conducted it.
Somokal reporter of Rajshahi Shourav Habib, member of Bangladesh Federal Journalist Union of Rajshai unit Javed Apu, RU Press Club President Taslimul Alam Towhid, general secretary Emdadul Haque Shohagh, Journalist Association president Hasan Adib, Rajshahi correspondent of Jamuna Television Hossain Mithu spoke at the event.
More than one hundred journalists were present at the human chain program.
It is noted that some BCL leaders and activists beat up mercilessly Arafat Rahman, a second-year student of MCJ department and also RU correspondent of the Daily Star, while he was capturing photos at a bus vandalizing scene of BCL.
