 RU BCL submits 24-point demand to VC

Leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhtara League (BCL),  Rajshahi University (RU) unit on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to the university Vice Chancellor to press home their 24-point demand including establishmentof an IT Park on the campus naming after Shajeeb Wazad Joy, IT adviser and son of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The memorandum was submitted to Vice Chancellor Professor Dr M Abdus Sobhan at 12:00 pm led by RU BCL president Golam Kibria and general secretary Failsal Ahmed Runu.

The other demands were- increasing budget on education and research sectors on the campus, increasing security measures rather than imposing termination of evening law for female students, building new three residential halls for male and female students on the campus naming after Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman, Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rasel.

The demands also included- reconstruction of Banghabandhu Sheikh Mojibur Rahman’s portrait from newly built Martyred Intellectuals Monument, building memorial monument of national four leaders and BCL leader Faruk Hossain who was allegedly killed by Shibir leaders on the campus and removal of suspension from former general secretary of BCL of RU Tawhid Hasan Tuhin, BCL central committee member Tanmoy Ananda Ovi, Shaheed Hobibur Rahman Hall president Mamur Or Rashid and activist Shapla Sultana Shafia.
